You'll learn the fundamentals of using a firearm, how to create a home defense plan, and qualify for a concealed carry license in Illinois. Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals is a comprehensive course for everyone interested in self defense. In this class we'll cover topics including:
Conflict avoidance and situational awareness
Home security and home defense
Handgun, shotgun, and AR-15 basics
Shooting fundamentals
The physiology of violent encounters
The legal aspects of using deadly force (including knowing what to do in the aftermath)
A complete guide on gear, gadgets, and ongoing training.
What To Expect
This class is a two-day, 16-hour class. We cover information in an engaging classroom environment using real life scenarios, demonstrations, and hands on learning. This class is a state-approved concealed carry class that will qualify if you chose to apply for your concealed carry license. The class includes live fire range time during which our instructors assist with technique, form, and provide tips and pointers along the way.
What To Bring
We suggest our students bring any items they feel they may need however, here is a short list of items we recommend our students bring:
Notepad and pen
Ammunition (can be purchased in store)
Handgun (optional) If you are going for a concealed carry license, we highly suggest bringing the handgun you'll be carrying consistantly. If you do not have a handgun, gun rentals are available at the range for an additional fee.
Holster for your handgun. (IWB or OWB, are both acceptable)
Hearing and eye protection
Closed toe shoes
Water bottle
